Quran 26:5 — Ash-Shu'araa, verse 5

Whenever they are brought a new revelation from the Lord of Mercy, they turn away:
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ ذِكْرٍ مِنَ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
wamā yatīhim min dhik'rin mina l-raḥmāni muḥ'dathin illā kānū ʿanhu muʿ'riḍīna

- But never fresh remembrance comes to them from the All-merciful, except they turn away from it.

- [But We have not willed it:] and so, whenever there comes unto them any fresh reminder from the Most Gracious, they [who are blind of heart] always - turn their backs upon it:

- And no mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
