Quran 3:19 — Aal-i-Imraan, verse 19
M. A. S. Abdel Haleem · selected translation
True Religion, in God’s eyes, is islam: [devotion to Him alone]. Those who were given the Scripture disagreed out of rivalry, only after they had been given knowledge- if anyone denies God’s revelations, God is swift to take account-
inna l-dīna ʿinda l-lahi l-is'lāmu wamā ikh'talafa alladhīna ūtū l-kitāba illā min baʿdi mā jāahumu l-ʿil'mu baghyan baynahum waman yakfur biāyāti l-lahi fa-inna l-laha sarīʿu l-ḥisābi

- The true religion with God is Islam. Those who were given the Book were not at variance except after the knowledge came to them, being insolent one to another. And whoso disbelieves in God's signs. God is swift at the reckoning.
- Muhammad Asad
- Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning!
- Sahih International
- Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allāh is Islām. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allāh, then indeed, Allāh is swift in [taking] account.
