Quran 5:80 — Al-Maaida, verse 80
M. A. S. Abdel Haleem · selected translation
You [Prophet] see many of them allying themselves with the disbelievers. How terrible is what their souls have stored up for them: God is angry with them and they will remain tormented.
tarā kathīran min'hum yatawallawna alladhīna kafarū labi'sa mā qaddamat lahum anfusuhum an sakhiṭa l-lahu ʿalayhim wafī l-ʿadhābi hum khālidūna

- [And now] thou canst see many of them allying themselves with those who are bent on denying the truth! [So] vile indeed is what their passions make them do that God has condemned them; and in suffering shall they abide.
- Sahih International
- You see many of them becoming allies of those who disbelieved [i.e., the polytheists]. How wretched is that which they have put forth for themselves in that Allāh has become angry with them, and in the punishment they will abide eternally.
