so you need not grieve for what you miss or gloat over what you gain. God does not love the conceited, the boastful,

لِكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا تَفْرَحُوا بِمَا آتَاكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ

likaylā tasaw ʿalā mā fātakum walā tafraḥū bimā ātākum wal-lahu lā yuḥibbu kulla mukh'tālin fakhūrin
