Quran 7:140 — Al-A'raaf, verse 140

Why should I seek any god other than God for you, when He has favoured you over all other people?’
قَالَ أَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَـٰهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ
qāla aghayra l-lahi abghīkum ilāhan wahuwa faḍḍalakum ʿalā l-ʿālamīna

- He said, 'What, shall I seek a god for you other than God, who has preferred you above all beings?'

- [And] he said: "Am I to seek for you a deity other than God, although it is He who has favoured you above all other people?"

- He said, "Is it other than Allāh I should desire for you as a god while He has preferred you over the worlds?"
