Quran 10:99 — Yunus, verse 99

Had your Lord willed, all the people on earth would have believed. So can you [Prophet] compel people to believe?
وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ لَآمَنَ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا ۚ أَفَأَنْتَ تُكْرِهُ النَّاسَ حَتَّىٰ يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ
walaw shāa rabbuka laāmana man fī l-arḍi kulluhum jamīʿan afa-anta tuk'rihu l-nāsa ḥattā yakūnū mu'minīna

- And if thy Lord had willed, whoever is in the earth would have believed, all of them, all together. Wouldst thou then constrain the people, until they are believers?

- And [thus it is:] had thy Sustainer so willed, all those who live on earth would surely have attained to faith, all of them: dost thou, then, think that thou couldst compel people to believe,

- And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muḥammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?
