Quran 9:23 — At-Tawba, verse 23

Believers, do not take your fathers and brothers as allies if they prefer disbelief to faith: those of you who do so are doing wrong.
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا آبَاءَكُمْ وَإِخْوَانَكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ إِنِ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْكُفْرَ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā tattakhidhū ābāakum wa-ikh'wānakum awliyāa ini is'taḥabbū l-kuf'ra ʿalā l-īmāni waman yatawallahum minkum fa-ulāika humu l-ẓālimūna

- O you who have believed, do not take your fathers or your brothers as allies if they have preferred disbelief over belief. And whoever does so among you - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.
