Quran 9:62 — At-Tawba, verse 62

They swear by God in order to please you [believers]: if they were true believers it would be more fitting for them to please God and His Messenger.
يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ لَكُمْ لِيُرْضُوكُمْ وَاللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُرْضُوهُ إِنْ كَانُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ
yaḥlifūna bil-lahi lakum liyur'ḍūkum wal-lahu warasūluhu aḥaqqu an yur'ḍūhu in kānū mu'minīna

- [The hypocrites] swear to you by God [that they are acting in good faith], with a view to pleasing you [O believers] - the while it is God and His Apostle whose pleasure they should seek above all else, if indeed they are believers!

- They swear by Allāh to you [Muslims] to satisfy you. But Allāh and His Messenger are more worthy for them to satisfy, if they were to be believers.
