قمص

قَمَصَ

Of a horse, camel, or other animal: to leap, spring, or bound, raising and putting down the forelegs together; by extension, to become restless, take fright, shy, or run off at random. It is also used of a restless bird and of a hind leg that twitches upward.

The animal usage is especially described of an animal being mounted or ridden; the restless and shying uses are figurative or extended applications of the movement.
